INSTALLATION:
Installation and removal of the roof racks are included in the hire fee and can take from 30 to 45 minutes. Removal can take up to 15 minutes.

Definitions
Hirer: The company providing the equipment for hire.
Hiree: The individual or entity renting the equipment from the Hirer.
Equipment: The items provided by the Hirer for use during the hire period.
1. Cancellations
1.1 For cancellations made within 5 days of the planned hire date, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from the deposit amount already paid. Any remaining amount will be refunded.
1.2 Cancellations made 6 days or more before the hire date are eligible for a 100% refund.
2. Security Bond
2.1 The security bond will be refunded within 5 working days of the equipment’s return, provided no deductions are required for damages, late fees, or other costs.
2.2 Deductions may be made for:
Unreturned equipment or missing components.
Damage beyond reasonable wear and tear. Reasonable wear and tear is defined as minor cosmetic scuffs or small marks.
Late Return Fees as specified in section 3.3.
It is important to note that the security bond is unlikely to cover the cost of a major repair or the replacement of hired equipment (refer to Paragraph 4.c. for further details).
3. Late Returns
3.1 The agreed hire period may be extended, if possible, at the standard additional day rate(s) for the type of equipment hired.
3.2 Extension Requests:
Requests must be communicated by the Hiree at least 24 hours in advance.
The Hirer’s agreement must be documented via text message or email.
3.3 Late Return Fees: If the equipment is not returned within 1 hour of the agreed time, a $50 late fee will apply for every 24-hour period or part thereof beyond the first hour.
4. Damage
4.1 The Hiree agrees to return the equipment in the same condition as provided, except for reasonable wear and tear. Reasonable wear and tear is defined as minor cosmetic scuffs or small marks.
4.2 Costs for Damage:
Repairs: Based on a professional quote provided by the Hirer. All costs for repairs will be the responsibility of the Hiree.
Replacement: If damage is irreparable or compromises equipment safety or usability, replacement of the item with a new or equivalent model will be required. All costs for replacement will be the responsibility of the Hiree.
The security bond is unlikely to cover the cost of a major repair or the replacement of hired equipment. For example to replace a roof box, bike bag or bike rack, prices start at approximately $1,000 for the smaller and/or cheaper models. The Hiree is responsible for all costs, including those in excess of the value of the security bond, to repair or replace hired equipment.
4.3 Photographic Evidence:
The Hirer will document the condition of the equipment prior to the hire period and/or at collection.
The Hiree should document the condition upon return to avoid disputes.
5. Damage by Third-Party Transport Providers
5.1 The Hiree is responsible for returning the equipment in the same condition, even if handled by a third-party provider (e.g., airlines).
5.2 Requirements:
Hiree is to take photographs before handing over the equipment.
Report any damage and obtain a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from the third-party provider before leaving the location. A PIR report documents any damage or loss when the equipment is handled by third-party providers.
5.3 Liability: Documenting the damage and obtaining a PIR does not absolve the Hiree of liability for cost of repairs or replacement.
6. Loss, Theft, or Missing Parts
6.1 All equipment and components (e.g., keys, straps, wheels, pads, covers, adapters) must be returned.
6.2 If items are missing, lost or stolen: Replacement costs will be charged based on the same or equivalent model. All costs for replacement will be the responsibility of the Hiree.
6.3 The Hiree must provide to the Hirer a police report and reference number within 7 days. Obtaining a police report does not absolve the Hiree of liability for cost of replacement.
7. Cleaning Fee
7.1 Cleaning Standards: Roof racks must be returned clean and dry, free from debris, squashed insects, animal droppings, sand, dust or dirt. The Hiree is expected to have washed and/or wiped down the equipment prior to returning it.
7.2 A $30 fee will apply for roof racks returned in an unsatisfactory condition.
7.3 The Cleaning fee may be deducted from the security bond.
8. Liability & Insurance
8.1 The Hirer is not liable for damage or loss to the Hiree’s property.
8.2 Hiree Responsibilities:
Ensure proper use of equipment to avoid personal injury or third-party claims.
The Hiree assumes all risk if they self-install the equipment.
Insurance Recommendation: The Hiree should obtain necessary travel, vehicle, and/or portable contents insurance to cover potential risks to the hired equipment.
9. Dispute Resolution
9.1 Good-Faith Negotiation: Both parties will attempt to resolve disputes amicably within 30 days.
9.2 If unresolved, the matter may be referred to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
10. General Terms
10.1 Entire Agreement: This document constitutes the entire agreement. The agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales.
10.2 Severability: If any clause is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain valid.
11.3 Governing Law: The agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales.
